The Lillooet Tribal Council is a non-profit society that serves five St'át'imc communities in St'át'imc territory in British Columbia.
The Lillooet Tribal Council (LTC) is the largest tribal council of the St'át'imc people. It is a non-profit society, incorporated on May 28, 1976 as the Stl'atl'imx Nation Tribal Council, and it serves five communities in St'át'imc territory:
The council traces its origins to the Declaration of the Lillooet Tribe, signed by a committee of chiefs in Spences Bridge on May 10, 1911. The Declaration asserted the sovereignty of St̓át̓imcets-speaking communities. Today the council is guided by oral tradition and the knowledge of Elders. Its mission states: "Through the values of self-sufficiency, cooperation and respect, we protect our St'át'imc title and rights, our land and resources, and our culture, heritage and language."
A Council of Chiefs governs the LTC, with one chief from each member community. From its office in Lillooet, the council works in health and wellness, Indigenous skills and employment training, emergency management, Indigenous family services, natural resources, education, fisheries and governance.
